See, I am doing a new thing! Isaiah 43:19

Operation Mobilisation (OM) Singapore welcomed a new season of change. On July 2, it celebrated its 35th anniversary and inauguration of its new field leader in the presence of more than 200 guests, receiving a flood of well-wishes from OM leaders and supporters all over the world.

Guest-of-Honour, OM International Director, Lawrence Tong, who himself was sent out to missions by OM Singapore in the 1970s, gave a timely word of exhortation, declaring from Psalm 126:3: "The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy."

OM East Asia Pacific (EAP) Area Leader, Mike Hey, Associate Area Leader, Kenneth Bong, OM Singapore Board Chairman, Benjamin Hong and Elder Alex Lo of Bethesda Frankel Estate Church then joined Lawrence in dedicating prayers of blessings over incoming Executive Director, Willy Ong, and outgoing Director, Terence Loke, who will move forward to assume a new role as Director of Corporate Services, OM EAP.

In a personal address, Lawrence encouraged Willy, “Make time to listen to God’s voice and worship Him, meditate on His word, serve others and to always remain active in sharing this wonderful gospel of Jesus Christ wherever you go.”

Having served onboard the OM Ship, Logos Hope, the last two years in a few key roles, Willy said: “I am excited about what God has called me and my family into - to undertake missions work back in our home country of Singapore. The work of OM Singapore evolves in tandem with the changes impacting the world and Singapore. In alignment with our broader OM movement, we look to sharpen our focus on reaching out to the lost. Amidst changes on multiple fronts, we continue to anchor ourselves in the one true constant - Jesus Christ, who is the same yesterday, today and forever.”
